The Real Estate Agent:

In good times and bad this is the person that can help you navigate the great ocean of homes available at any given time. Working with a real estate agent that you are comfortable with can be a big help. While you are not obligated to work with one, an agent can provide a variety of services to help you coordinate the many activities that are involved in a real estate transaction.

The Home Inspector: For a fee, a home inspector inspects and provides written reports on the overall physical condition of a residential structure, but there’s so much more. Your home inspector will help save you money, time, headache and did we mention they can save you some money? If the foundation of your dream home is cracking, it won’t be your dream home for long, this team member is invaluable!

The Settlement/Closing Agent: is an individual or firm responsible for the final stages of completing a sale between the buyer and seller. Settlement agents are usually responsible for facilitating payment from the buyer to the seller and transferring the property or securities from the seller to the buyer. They are also the person who will make sure you have a good understanding of what you’re doing at closing. Find someone you trust and who is open to explaining things and answering any questions you may have.

The Insurance Agent: If you’re going to take the time to find the house, buy the house and move in; you may want to protect your investment. The right insurance agent will sit with you to find out your short and long-term goals. Many agents offer extra services, like life insurance, that all serve the interest of your family. Do your research prior to picking your agent.

If homeownership is your goal, assembling a team of reliable professionals is the way to go. Good Luck!
